Summer Engineering Institute

The Summer Engineering Institute is a one-week residential program for rising 11th and 12th graders to explore engineering and computer science through hands-on experiments, interactive workshops, design challenges, and guided campus activities. Participants stay overnight on the Georgia Tech campus, meet faculty and students, take part in field trips, and receive mentorship from engineering professionals. The program aims to introduce high school students to engineering disciplines and provide insight into the admissions process at Georgia Tech. A partnership edition (TryEngineering Summer Institute) also runs as a nine-day residential program with IEEE, the Georgia Space Grant Consortium and NSLC.

Overnight campus accommodation, hands-on workshops and experiments, guided campus tours, mentorship from engineering professionals, field trips, exposure to admissions information; participation at no cost for selected students in 2026.

Geared toward rising 11th and 12th-grade students who are interested in engineering, science, math, or technology. The Summer Engineering Institute is for Georgia residents only.
