Atkinson-EDF Summer Internships

The Atkinson-EDF Summer Internships place Cornell undergraduate and select graduate students in hands-on, project-based roles embedded with the Environmental Defense Fund and partner offices. Interns work at the intersection of science, policy, community, and the private sector to develop practical skills and contribute to real-world sustainability projects. Placements cover topics such as carbon, fisheries management, power sector analysis, wetlands science, and related data and communications work. The programme is administered by the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability.

Hands-on project placement with Environmental Defense Fund partner offices, practical skills development, professional experience in sustainability-related topics and potential mentorship and networking opportunities.

Primarily intended for Cornell undergraduate students, with select opportunities available to Cornell graduate students.
