RWJF Health Policy Research Scholars Program 2025

The Health Policy Research Scholars (HPRS) is a four-year national leadership development program for full-time doctoral students in nonclinical, research-focused disciplines where policy is a key lever for change. It provides training in the health policy process, approaches to systems change, and how to craft actionable research questions, along with mentorship and career and leadership coaching. Up to 40 scholars will be selected for the 2025 cohort.

Financial support of $30,000 per year, plus an administrative fee for the host institution, mentorship, and leadership coaching.

Applicants must be starting full-time, second-year doctoral studies in fall 2025 in a research-based program at a U.S. institution, with at least three academic years remaining and not graduating before spring/summer 2028; they must come from marginalized backgrounds and be committed to health equity and policy-relevant research.
