TWAS Visiting Expert Programme 2026/2027

The TWAS Visiting Expert Programme enables internationally renowned scientists to visit institutions in developing countries, particularly Least Developed Countries, to collaborate in research and training, deliver lectures, supervise students, and help establish new lines of research. The hosting institution supports local expenses, while TWAS provides the visiting expert with economy-class travel. On completion, reports detailing the impact of the visit are expected from both the visiting expert and the host institution.

Opportunity to collaborate with host institutions, deliver lectures and seminars, supervise students, and contribute to capacity-building; provision of a formal report detailing the visit's impact.

Only internationally recognised scientists are considered; nominations of women are particularly welcomed.

Institutions must complete the online application form and upload a brief CV, publications list, a statement from the visiting expert outlining the research/teaching plan, and a letter from the host institution.
