Wolf Humanities Center Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Wolf Humanities Center Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship is a one-year appointment at the University of Pennsylvania supporting early-career scholars in the humanities and allied fields. Fellows conduct research and teach one course while participating in the Center’s seminars, public programming, and professional development. The appointment runs July 1, 2027—June 30, 2028 and includes a minimum stipend, a research fund, and health insurance. Fellows are appointed a faculty mentor and contribute to the Center’s annual theme (2027–2028 topic: Empire).

Twelve-month appointment with a minimum $67,000 stipend; $3,000 research fund; discounted single-coverage health insurance; one taught course; participation in weekly Mellon Research Seminar; faculty mentor; involvement in public symposium and professional development workshops.

Scholars who received or will receive their PhD (or DPhil) between May 2022 and December 2026 in the humanities or allied fields (e.g., anthropology, history of science) are eligible. MFAs, EdDs, and other non-eligible doctorates and certain categories (performing artists, social scientists) are excluded; the fellowship is open to national and international applicants.
