Unlocking advanced capabilities in conservation and heritage science

Unlocking advanced capabilities in conservation and heritage science is a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding opportunity to strengthen conservation and heritage science infrastructure and national capability. It supports projects to improve access to nationally significant facilities, fund equipment and enable innovation through collaboration with industry and SMEs. Projects may include a dedicated allocation of cascaded funding to support collaborative innovation linked to capitalisable activity. Projects must start on 1 April 2027 and may last up to 24 months.

Grant funding for equipment, facilities and infrastructure; up to £1.5 million project FEC; up to £300,000 for cascaded innovation funding; support for expanded access to nationally significant facilities and collaboration with industry.

Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for AHRC funding.
