Next Step Award

The Next Step Award is a University of Cardiff scholarship supporting first-year undergraduate students. It targets participants of the university's Step Up access programme and aims to reduce financial burdens in the first year. Beneficiaries may choose either a residence fee reduction or a travel bursary. The award can be combined with the University of Cardiff's main bursary.

£1,000 reduction in residence fees OR £500 travel bursary for the first year

Applicants must have participated in the university's Step Up access programme, have a household income below £35,000, and be enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate degree at Cardiff University.

No separate application; the university automatically identifies eligible applicants from admissions data and contacts them during the first-year admissions cycle.
