Die Mittelstufe schreibt!

Die Mittelstufe schreibt! is a school project for Sekundarstufe I classes (grades 5–9) in Hesse that trains and strengthens German orthography through weekly lessons over a school year. The project includes a four-part teacher training on effective spelling didactics and (online) consultation hours for teachers during implementation. Participating classes work with research-based teaching materials across 13 topics and hold an internal spelling competition at the end of the school year. Top individual performances and the best performance from spelling support courses are recognised with a certificate.
