SRC Programme: Common Security in a Diverging World (2027)

The SRC Programme 'Common Security in a Diverging World' is a strategic research programme funding multidisciplinary consortia to produce long-term, solution-oriented research on societal security and psychological crisis resilience. Funding is awarded to consortia that include at least three organisations and cover at least three research fields, and projects form a thematic programme led by a separately funded programme director. Projects are funded for an initial funding period with a project budget of €2.75–3 million for the first period and a total project duration of 3+3 years.

Large project funding (€2.75–3M for first period), coverage of consortium PI salary, thematic programme support and participation in SRC programme activities.

Applications are invited from consortia that include at least three organisations and at least three research fields. Consortium PIs must have a doctoral degree and hold the title of docent or have research experience at the docent level. An SRC consortium must have an interaction coordinator qualified in their own field.

Two-stage call: first-stage applications are open to all eligible applicants; shortlisted consortia will be invited to submit full applications. Applications are submitted via the Research Council of Finland's online services (SARA).
