Nuclear Physics in Astrophysics Conference (NPA-XIII 2028) – Call for bids to host

The Nuclear Physics Division (NPD) of the European Physical Society (EPS) is soliciting bids to host the 13th Conference on Nuclear Physics in Astrophysics (NPA-XIII) in 2028. The biennial conference brings together experimental and theoretical nuclear physicists, astronomers, astrophysicists and cosmo-chemists to discuss advances in the field. Candidate hosts must propose dates, venue, participating universities and laboratories, projected costs and financial support, and provide a Local Organizing Committee. Selected hosts will coordinate conference proceedings, fees and arrangements for student and early-career support.

The bid should include projected costs and expected financial supports; a contribution of €25 per participant to the NPD board is expected. The conference may request an EPS poster prize and/or a grant for early-career researchers.

Institutions (universities, laboratories or local organising groups) are invited to submit bids describing proposed dates, venue, participating institutions, projected costs, expected financial support, sponsorship and support for students and early-career researchers, and the Local Organizing Committee.

Submit the application material (including proposed dates, venue, participating institutions, projected costs, expected financial support, sponsorship, student/early-career support, anticipated conference fees and list of Local Organizing Committee members) to the Scientific Secretary and Chair of the NPD board. Candidates will be invited to present their proposal at the NPD board online meeting in February 2027 for selection.
