Coimbra Group Scholarship Programme for Early-career Professors & Researchers from Latin American Universities 2026

Universities of the Coimbra Group offer short-term research visits (1–3 months maximum) to Latin American early-career researchers from higher education institutions in Latin America. The programme aims to support these scholars in continuing research related to their work at their home institution while fostering academic and research collaborations with scientists and institutions based in Europe. The scholarships are funded by participating Coimbra Group member universities, while the Coimbra Group Office manages the application process.

Short-term research visits (1–3 months) with supervision at a host institution in Europe; funding supports the research stay as part of the scholarship.

Be born on or after 1 January 1986; be nationals and current residents of a Latin American country; hold a university degree or equivalent; be linked, as a professor or researcher, to a Latin American University recognized as such by the authorities; obtain an acceptance letter/email from a supervisor at the host university confirming their willingness to supervise the work programme during the research stay.
