Nationale Natuurkundeolympiade

A national physics olympiad for secondary-school pupils in the Netherlands with multiple rounds (school round, second round, national final) culminating in selection of five students to represent the Netherlands at the International Physics Olympiad. The programme includes timed computer-based tests, regional second-round exams, a week-long final with theoretical and experimental exams, and practical training for the international team. Schools register a teacher as coordinator who administers the first-round test at school; top participants receive study materials and prizes.

Under-schools-with-more-than-five-participants prize of €500 (lottery); best school receives a rotating trophy for one year; best 200 participants receive a study package; finalists attend a week of lectures and practicals; top five represent the Netherlands internationally. Medal cash prizes for international results: honorable mention €125, bronze €250, silver €375, gold €500.

Pupils participate via their school; teachers register as coordinators who enter pupils into the computer testing system and administer the first round at school.

Teachers register as coordinators and sign their school up (contact the secretary/Enno van der Laan); coordinators use the provided admin portal to enter pupils and obtain the test password.
