IPA Junior Research Awards in Psychogeriatrics

An annual competition for best original, unpublished research in psychogeriatrics for junior investigators. Winners are presented at the IPA International Congress and receive travel support, complimentary congress registration, and a one-year IPA membership. Submissions are blind-reviewed and must be original unpublished papers in English following the specified format. The 2026 awards will be presented at the IPA International Congress in Leiden, Netherlands, 1-3 July 2026.

USD $1,500 toward travel and accommodations; one complimentary Congress registration; one-year complimentary IPA membership; award presentation at the IPA International Congress.

Junior investigators within five years of their terminal degree (e.g., MD, PhD) and not above Instructor or Assistant Professor level; previous award recipients are not eligible. Papers must be unpublished original research in psychogeriatrics and the first publication of the results must be associated with this award competition.

Submit papers electronically to the IPA Secretariat by email (jkowalski@ipa-online.org) with subject line 'IPA Junior Research Awards'; include required title page, justification of junior status, a blinded title-only page, and the full paper in Microsoft Word in the requested format and length.
