Code for Africa (CfA) WanaData Fellowship 2026

The CfA WanaData Fellowship is a stipend-based fellowship for African data journalists and data scientists. It provides a monthly stipend, hands-on data tools and technical training, and ongoing mentorship from CfA’s team to support gender-focused and digital rights projects.

Monthly stipend; hands-on data tools and technical training; one-on-one mentorship; ongoing support from CfA’s Communities and Academy Team.

Applicants must be a registered WanaData member with at least one year of experience as a data scientist or data storyteller and have a portfolio of published work; ideally based in the Sahel, West Africa or Horn of Africa, with English or French language proficiency and an interest in digital rights and gender data research.
