World Press Photo Contest 2026

The World Press Photo Contest is an annual competition recognizing outstanding photojournalism and documentary photography from the past year. Entering is free and winners can receive monetary prizes, inclusion in the traveling exhibition, and other rewards. The contest is organized by World Press Photo, a non-profit organization with international reach.

Monetary prizes (up to €11,000 total for prizes; €1,000 per winner and €10,000 for the World Press Photo of the Year), camera equipment for the winner, invitation to a winners’ event in Amsterdam, and a physical award.

Open to professional photographers working in journalism and/or documentary photography. Team entries of two or more photographers are allowed; each member must be the author of the submitted work.
