Multilingual AI for Health Challenge 2026

A fully online competition inviting AI enthusiasts, developers, researchers, machine learning engineers, and language technology enthusiasts to build multilingual AI systems capable of answering health-related questions in African languages. The challenge has a total prize pool of 5,000 USD and is organized in collaboration with HASH, focusing on maternal, sexual and reproductive health information in African languages.

Prize money awarded to top teams (2,500 USD; 1,500 USD; 1,000 USD), 5,000 Zindi points, recognition within the African AI ecosystem, and opportunities for collaboration and visibility in AI for healthcare.

Participants should be AI enthusiasts, developers, researchers, machine learning engineers, and language technology enthusiasts.
