AI for Reproductive Health in Sub-Saharan Africa Innovation Challenge 2026

The AI for Reproductive Health Innovation Challenge is a regional initiative for multidisciplinary teams across Sub-Saharan Africa to co-design, prototype, and test AI-enabled solutions addressing maternal and reproductive health challenges. Over a four-week virtual innovation sprint, participants receive mentorship, capacity-building sessions, and opportunities to present their work; winning teams receive financial support and international exposure, including the chance to present at a regional conference. The program focuses on two tracks: improving early pregnancy loss care and empowering informed contraceptive decision-making through AI tools.

Mentorship from data science and health experts, capacity-building sessions, hands-on development with real-world datasets, and potential international exposure including conference presentation.

Multidisciplinary teams of three to six members, with at least two female participants, must include members with data science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, medicine, nursing, or public health expertise, and be residents or citizens of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Submit a 300-word statement of interest via the provided Google Form; shortlisted teams will be invited to the innovation sprint from 11 May to 6 June 2026, with final presentations on 11 June 2026.
