SMART Scholarship Program: Full Funding for STEM Students with Guaranteed DoD Careers

The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program is a Department of Defense-funded scholarship providing full educational funding for undergraduate and graduate STEM students, with a guaranteed civilian career placement in national defense after graduation. It includes tuition coverage, living stipends, health insurance allowances, and professional development, along with paid summer internships and mentorship. The program creates a direct path from education to a DoD civilian career for selected scholars.

Open to students who are U.S. citizens or citizens of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom, aged at least 18 by January 1, 2027, and currently enrolled in or planning to pursue a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in an approved STEM discipline.
