Health System Impact Fellowship (CIHR)

The Health System Impact Fellowship provides a paid experiential learning opportunity for doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to embed within Canadian health system organizations to address health system challenges through applied research. Fellows receive mentorship, professional development, and a structured training platform with cohort-based activities.

Stipends and professional development funds, mentorship from health system and academic supervisors, exposure to real-world decision-making environments, and a national training platform with a cohort retreat.

Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a doctoral program in health services/policy research or a related field and be affiliated with a CIHR-eligible academic institution; must secure dual supervision from an academic and a health system supervisor.

Submit application via CIHR’s ResearchNet platform, including a project proposal, letters of support, an equity/EDI plan, SGBA certificate, transcripts (doctoral applicants), and confirmation of partner funding.
