NIH Summer Internship Program 2026

The NIH Summer Internship Program 2026 offers a full-time research internship in the NIH Intramural Research Program. It is designed for outstanding college, graduate, and professional school students interested in health-related fields such as biology, engineering, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, nursing, and computer science. Interns gain hands-on research experience, access to professional development activities, and may present their work at Summer Poster Day.

Stipend, mentorship from NIH investigators, exposure to state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities to present research at Summer Poster Day.

Open to college, graduate, and professional school students in accredited US institutes.
