The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development recognizes outstanding ESD projects or programmes that are ongoing, have at least four years of operation, demonstrate high impact relative to resources, and are replicable and scalable. It is funded by the Government of Japan and consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each recipient.
