Texas Tuition Promise Fund

The Texas Tuition Promise Fund is a prepaid tuition plan that allows families to purchase tuition units to cover a portion or the entirety of a student’s college tuition at Texas public institutions. Units are bought at a fixed rate and can be used at most Texas two-year and four-year public colleges and universities to cover undergraduate tuition and schoolwide fees. The program is designed for Texas residents and offers flexibility if the beneficiary attends a non-participating institution, with the transfer value applicable in some cases.

Prepaid tuition units lock in today's tuition costs for future undergraduate study at Texas public colleges and universities; units can be transferred to other eligible institutions and provide some tax advantages.

Enrollment is open to U.S. citizens or legal residents over 18 years old to open an account, with the beneficiary being a Texas resident.

Enrollment is accepted during each enrollment period; purchasers open and manage the account and designate a beneficiary.
