Amazon Software Development Engineer (SDE) Intern — Sydney 2026

The Amazon SDE Intern (Sydney) 2026 is a full-time, in-office software engineering internship running December 2026 to February 2027. Interns design, build and operate scalable cloud-native services and microservices, work with GenAI development tools, and are matched with a manager and mentor while owning an end-to-end project. The role requires proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language and exposure to data structures, algorithms or object-oriented design. Work is based in Sydney with typical hours up to 38 hours per week.

Manager and mentor pairing; ownership of an end-to-end project; intern community activities; hands-on experience with scalable distributed systems, cloud-native development and GenAI developer tools.

Applicants must be 18 or older and in the penultimate year of a Bachelor’s degree or higher (graduating after February 2027); enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, data science, information systems or a related STEM field. Candidates must be available full-time in office for the entire December 2026–February 2027 period.
