Hokkaido University HUSTEP Scholarship 2026-2027 to Study in Japan

The HUSTEP Scholarship program at Hokkaido University offers a student exchange pathway (HUSTEP), Special Auditor (SA), and Special Research Student (SRS) routes for the 2026–2027 academic year, providing a funded opportunity including potential JASSO monthly scholarship support and access to English-taught courses, language training, and hands-on research under faculty supervision.

Monthly living allowance (¥80,000 via JASSO), English-taught courses, Japanese language training, one-to-one faculty supervision, access to university labs and international study experience.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree at their home university, remain registered and pay tuition at their home institution, have completed at least two years of undergraduate study, hold a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, be proficient in English (TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.5, or CEFR C1), and be able to arrive in late September or early April for the program intake.

Apply through the TAO system, upload academic documents and language certificates, prepare a study plan and consent forms, and have your home university’s International Relations Office forward the application to Hokkaido University.
