Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are EU-funded research fellowship and doctoral training programmes that support doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and promote international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. MSCA includes doctoral networks (PhD training programmes), postdoctoral fellowships (European and global), staff exchanges and other collaborative funding schemes. The programme funds research and training activities across academic and non-academic sectors and aims to enhance researchers' skills, employability and career development. Funding is provided through competitive calls and supports mobility between countries and sectors.

Living allowance, scholarship/stipend, other financial coverage and funded research mobility; doctoral networks also provide structured doctoral training and exposure to academic and non-academic sectors.

Doctoral networks are open to doctoral candidates enrolled in participating programmes; postdoctoral fellowships target researchers holding a PhD at the time of application (including those who have successfully defended but not yet formally received the degree). European Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality; Global Fellowships include specific rules and a mandatory return phase to an organisation in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country.

Applications are submitted either by organisations/consortia to open calls, by individual researchers jointly with a host organisation for postdoctoral fellowships, or by applying to vacant doctoral/postdoctoral positions funded through MSCA projects.
