IRPP Postdoctoral Research Fellowship 2025 in Support of Indigenous, Black and Other Racialized Scholars

The IRPP Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is a two-year, full-time research fellowship offered by the Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP) in Canada. It supports junior scholars who are Indigenous, Black, or from another racialized group to conduct original research on Canadian public policy and to contribute to policy-relevant work within IRPP’s ongoing programs. The fellow benefits from mentorship, resources, and an extended network, with a stipend and a research allowance to cover travel and equipment.

Stipend, research allowance, mentorship and editorial support, access to IRPP office and events, professional network, and potential supervision from a co-investigator.

Identify as Indigenous, Black or a member of another racialized group; be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; reside in Canada during the fellowship; have completed a PhD (or be within five years of PhD completion) in a discipline relevant to social science and public policy; have a track record of research dissemination; not hold a permanent faculty position; have an affiliation with a Canadian university or a co-supervisor.

Prepare a detailed 24-month research proposal aligned with IRPP programs, a cover letter, a CV, identity documentation, and a career plan; submit as part of the application package to IRPP.
