CANEX Junior Chefs Competition 2026

The CANEX Junior Chefs Competition 2026 is a culinary contest designed to identify, nurture, and showcase young culinary talent across Africa, with this edition focusing on Nigerian talent. Participants compete through a series of challenges that test creativity, technical skill, and understanding of ingredients and food culture. Prizes include cash awards, plaques, certificates, and mentorship opportunities, along with related diploma programs offered through a partner culinary school.

First prize $1,500 with a gold award plaque, certificate of participation, mentorship with the lead chef, and a 1-year professional Chef Diploma; second prize $1,000 with a silver plaque, certificate of participation, mentorship, and a 3-month diploma; third prize $500 with a bronze plaque, certificate of participation, mentorship, and a culinary program.

Be within the eligible age range (e.g. 16–21 years); be based in Nigeria; demonstrate a passion for cooking and culinary arts; possess basic cooking knowledge or experience; have parental or guardian consent where applicable.
