EMBO PhD Course

The EMBO PhD Course is a two-week intensive training programme for late-stage doctoral researchers that combines in-person and online sessions. It provides professional and communication skills training including scientific writing, grant writing, presentation skills, research ethics and career development. The course fosters networking among participants and offers interaction with EMBO-associated investigators and EMBO Press. Cohorts are cohort-based and cohort locations rotate (for example Bangalore 2026; Heidelberg 2027).

Professional and communication skills training (scientific writing, grant writing, presentations), sessions on research ethics and peer review, career-development activities including a career fair, networking with peers and EMBO investigators.

3rd and 4th year PhD students working in the laboratories of EMBO Global Investigators and Young Investigators.
