EMBO Installation Grants

The EMBO Installation Grants support life-science group leaders who move to, or have recently moved to, participating countries to establish independent laboratories. Grants provide multi-year financial support together with professional development, networking and access to core facilities. Funding is provided jointly by the host country’s ministry or funding agency and EMBC and is integrated with EMBO’s Young Investigator Network.

Annual research grant (€50,000) for 3–5 years, additional discretionary grants up to €10,000/year, travel grants, networking, training in leadership and management, and access to EMBL core facilities.

Applicants must be group leaders who will move to, or have recently moved to, a participating country; in the four years prior to application they must have spent at least two consecutive years outside the country in which they are establishing their laboratory.
