Funded Curator Residency in Japan Including Airfare, Accommodation, and JPY 200,000 in Research Support

The Curator Residency Program 2027 offered by Mori Contemporary Art Foundation (MoriCAF) in Japan is a funded international residency for curators based outside Japan who are interested in contemporary Japanese art. The program supports a stay of one to three months in Japan, enabling field research and engagement with artists, researchers, museums, galleries, festivals, and independent spaces to foster international networks and ongoing projects in contemporary art.

Round-trip airfare, furnished accommodation, breakfast, research project support up to JPY 200,000, and networking opportunities with museums, galleries, and art spaces in Japan.

Applicants must be based outside Japan, have at least 5 years of curatorial experience in contemporary art, be proficient in English or Japanese, and be able to live and work independently during the residency.
