Basel Summer Science Academy

The Basel Summer Science Academy is a hands-on summer research course run at the Biozentrum, University of Basel for gymnasium students. Participants collect environmental samples around Basel and carry out microbiological and phage research in real university laboratories, including microscopy and DNA analysis. The programme includes lectures, excursions to life-science companies, and social activities, and concludes with a certificate of participation. Two identical one-week sessions are offered in summer.

Hands-on laboratory research experience, lectures and excursions, lunch provided, and a certificate of participation.

Students in grades 11 to 13 (gymnasium) from the Basel region.
