Nicodemus Wilderness Project Apprentice Ecologist Scholarship

The Nicodemus Wilderness Project Apprentice Ecologist Scholarship awards cash scholarships to high-school students who lead or join environmental stewardship projects and submit a photo and an essay about their project. Scholarships are intended for tuition and fees at an accredited college or university. The programme also recognises top essay authors with merchandise awards and engages youth in conservation and cleanup activities.

Cash scholarship awards for tuition and fees; top five essay authors receive a free NWP t-shirt or tote bag.

Open to high school juniors and seniors. High school seniors may also apply during the summer after graduation. Applicants must complete an environmental stewardship project demonstrating leadership, initiative, and sustainability.

Plan and lead or join an environmental cleanup or conservation project, take a photo in action, write an essay (suggested 750–1,500 words), and email project location, photo, essay, number of volunteers, total volunteer hours, and your name, address and year in high school to mail@wildernessproject.org by August 31.
