Novo Nordisk Fondens Natur- og Teknologilærerpris

The Novo Nordisk Fondens Natur- og Teknologilærerpris is an annual prize recognising outstanding teaching in the subject of nature and technology at the early and middle levels of primary/lower-secondary school. It is awarded to individual teachers, multiple teachers or teams (up to three people) who have delivered a particularly strong educational effort and who promote interest and motivation for science and technology among children. The award includes a personal honorarium and a larger grant to the recipient's school to support development of science teaching. The prize is presented at the Big Bang conference and the recipient is invited to participate in related panels and conference activities.

DKK 350,000 total (DKK 50,000 personal + DKK 300,000 to the school; teams: DKK 25,000 per recipient), plus participation and accommodation at the Big Bang conference and invitation to participate in a panel.

The prize is aimed at teachers who teach the subject of nature and technology in the early and middle stages of primary/lower-secondary schools in the Kingdom of Denmark. Nominations must be submitted via the teacher's school leader or school board; children, parents and colleagues may propose candidates but the formal nomination must come from the school leadership.

Candidates are nominated by the school's headteacher or school board; proposals may be made by children, parents or colleagues. The nominated teacher must consent to the nomination. Selection is made by the Committee for Novo Nordisk Foundation's Teaching Prizes.
