AREF Research Development Fellowship Programme 2024/2025

The AREF Research Development Fellowship Programme provides opportunities for talented health researchers based in Africa to lead research relevant to African settings. It supports emerging African scientists through research skill development, mentorship, and work towards a substantial research funding proposal. Fellows receive a placement at a leading research institution and associated home-institution support, with up to £47,000 available.

Three to nine-month placement at a leading research institution; additional support at home institution; up to £47,000 funding; mentorship and collaboration opportunities.

Open to early career researchers based in Africa. Applicants are research-active post-doctoral scientists and clinicians with higher qualifications who are nationals of and employed in Africa.
