Fulbright Foreign Student Program for Graduate Studies (for Greek Citizens)

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program for Graduate Studies (Greece) awards competitive grants to outstanding Greek students to pursue a master’s degree or MA/PhD-track programs at accredited U.S. colleges and universities for the academic year beginning August/September. The programme supports a broad range of academic disciplines (excluding Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, and PhD-only degrees) and includes pre-departure orientation, visa assistance and community/enrichment activities. Awards are merit-based and aim to foster U.S.–Greece educational and cultural exchange and encourage recipients to return to Greece after their studies. Grants are limited in number and subject to Fulbright Foundation Greece and FFSB policies.

Maintenance allowance (up to US$20,000), travel allowance (up to €2,000), limited health/accident coverage, pre-departure orientation, visa assistance, enrichment seminars, certificate of completion, participation in Fulbright community events.

Applicants must be Greek citizens (Greek passport) and enrolled as final-year BA students or hold a BA degree from a recognized institution in Greece. Candidates must have permanent residency in Greece, a strong academic record (minimum GPA 8.0/10 or 3.4/4.0), excellent English, and candidates with U.S./Greek dual citizenship are not eligible.

Mandatory registration (registration period listed) followed by submission of an online Fulbright application; applicants are expected to have applied or be applying to U.S. universities (admission required for award). Registration period: July 1, 2026 – October 15, 2026; application deadline: November 15, 2026 (midnight EET).
