Whiting Foundation Cultural Heritage Grants

The Whiting Foundation Cultural Heritage Grants support local stewards working to preserve, document, and disseminate documentary and other cultural heritage in less-well-resourced countries. The program focuses on international projects (outside the United States) and emphasizes documentary heritage such as manuscripts and inscriptions. Grants are provided to safeguard collections threatened by conflict, disaster, or other risks, and the Foundation also supports partnerships and regrants that enable local training and equipment provision.

Modest grants to collections to safeguard documentary heritage; in some projects support has included training, equipment, and regrants to local professionals.

Applications for this program are by invitation only. Grants support local stewards and collections in less-well-resourced countries, including projects in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
