William T. Grant Scholars Program 2026

The William T. Grant Scholars Program supports career development for promising early-career researchers through five-year research and mentoring plans. Four to six Scholars are selected each year, with each Scholar receiving funding and access to a mentoring community to expand their expertise. Awards begin July 1 of the award year and are made to the applicant’s institution.

Five-year funding totaling $425,000 per Scholar plus mentoring and access to a supportive academic community.

Applicants must be nominated by their institutions; they must have earned a doctorate within seven years of submitting the application and be employed in career-ladder positions. Applicants outside the United States are eligible.

Scholars must be nominated by their institution.
