Data, AI, and Community Research Grant Program

A Tulane University grant program offering project funding for research involving data science, artificial intelligence (or impacts of AI), and community-engaged research. Grants are available from three Tulane centers: the Connolly Alexander Institute for Data Science (CAIDS), the Center for Community-Engaged Artificial Intelligence (CEAI), and the Center for Public Service (CPS). Projects that meet multiple funder criteria are prioritized. Funding amounts vary by applicant type and center.

Monetary grant support (up to $10,000 for eligible projects; up to $1,500 for graduate student projects).

Full-time Tulane faculty (tenure-track, professors of practice, administrative faculty, clinical professors, research professors, and equivalents, excluding adjunct and visiting professors), post-doctoral scholars, and advanced graduate students enrolled in Tulane PhD, masters, or other doctoral programs meeting specified candidacy or thesis/capstone requirements.

Submit application via the provided online form with required documents: short statements addressing funder criteria, a 2-page proposal (plus up to 2 pages for community engagement), budget and justification, CV/biosketch, proof of community partnership for community-engaged projects, unofficial transcript for students, and IRB documentation or statements as applicable.
