American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship

The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship offers various scholarships to support the educational journey of students connected to the military community. It includes several types of awards for different demographics, including children of veterans, junior members, non-traditional students, and department-level scholarships. It aims to provide financial support for higher education for eligible applicants in the United States.

State/department winners: $1,000; Five national winners: $5,000 (awarded in lieu of the $1,000 state award).

General eligibility includes being a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a veteran; a high school senior; and meeting required criteria such as volunteer service, academic record, and, for some scholarships, membership status or return to education.
