AAAS-TWAS Course on Science Diplomacy 2026

The AAAS-TWAS Course on Science Diplomacy 2026 is a annual summer course held in Trieste, Italy, designed to expose scientists, decisionmakers, diplomats and other stakeholders to science diplomacy concepts and related policy issues. The program runs from July 20 to July 23, 2026, with organizers covering expenses for selected participant pairs and some self-supported participants may also attend at their own cost. The course is run by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

Costs for selected participants are covered; networking and exposure to science diplomacy concepts; potential for travel and accommodation support.

Applications are invited from a ‘participant pair’ consisting of an Early-Career Scientist and a Decisionmaker from the policymaking arena.
