MEXT Research Students Scholarship 2027

The MEXT Research Students Scholarship is a fully funded program for international students to study as research students at Japanese universities, with the possibility to progress to Master’s or Doctoral programs after meeting admission requirements. The scholarship covers tuition, a monthly stipend, flight tickets, visa processing, and housing support where available.

Tuition coverage, monthly living stipend (varies by enrollment phase), round-trip airfare, visa processing, and potential housing assistance.

Applicants must be graduates of D4/S1/S2, under 34 years old by 1 April 2027, and must intend to pursue research in a field aligned with their prior studies, with admission requirements for Master’s or Doctoral programs in Japan.
