AERC-World Bank Visiting Scholars Program 2026

The AERC-World Bank Visiting Scholars Program 2026 invites researchers and faculty to spend time at the World Bank, work on their own research relevant to economic development in Africa, and collaborate with World Bank researchers. Participants will join the Africa Region Office of the Chief Economist (AFRCE) activities, engage in capacity-building, and contribute to ongoing World Bank Africa-focused research projects. The program includes opportunities to revise a draft paper, present seminars, and build a research repository while in residence at the World Bank.

Opportunity to spend time at the World Bank, work on own research pertinent to African development, collaborate with World Bank researchers, participate in seminars, and benefit from AFRCE capacity-building activities.

Applicants must be AERC researchers, including those from the AERC collaborative PhD programme CPP, and must have an active research project pertinent to the World Bank Africa Region.

Submit an expression of interest including a two-page statement of interest, a draft paper relevant to Africa region research, possible course materials to improve, and an updated CV.
