NASA Open Science Essentials (Open Science 101)

The NASA Open Science Essentials course is a free online learning program designed to teach principles and practices of open science, data sharing, and research transparency. It is self-paced and accessible to learners worldwide, including high school students, undergraduates, graduates, postdoctoral researchers, professionals, and educators. Upon completion, participants receive a free NASA digital badge and a certificate.

International candidates are welcome. High school, undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, professionals, educators, and people from any academic field may apply.

Register for a free NASA STEM Gateway account, select the Open Science Essentials course, and apply/register through the online portal.
