S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence Residencies Program 2025

The S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence Residencies Program 2025 is a residency scheme hosting 10 African artists to develop projects at the intersection of science, technology and art. Gallery of Code hosts several residencies under the STARTS initiative, with support from the European Commission, aiming to explore AI’s influence on innovation and creativity. The program provides a residency of up to eight months, with a substantial budget to cover fees, production costs, travel and accommodation, and participation in an AI boot camp in Johannesburg.

Eight-month residency; up to EUR 20,000 budget; guidance from host institutions; access to technology experts; access to the S+T+ARTS network.

Proposals must be submitted by an individual artist or an artist collective who is a permanent resident or national of any African country. If applying as a collective, at least one member must be a resident or citizen of an African country.
