Western Hemisphere Awards

The Western Hemisphere Awards are part of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program providing grants for individually designed study, research, and English Teaching Assistant (ETA) placements in Western Hemisphere countries. Awards are for U.S. graduating seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists and include ETA opportunities in specified countries. Grant periods vary by project and host institution; some awards must begin to coincide with local academic years. Certain countries in the region are ineligible for grants.

Grant funding for individually designed study, research, or English Teaching Assistant placements; grant period varies and some placements require affiliation with local academic institutions and specific start months.

U.S. graduating seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists may apply. English Teaching Assistant Programs are available to applicants for Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.
