The Coastal Summer School is an interdisciplinary summer school focused on environmental monitoring for sustainable management of seas, with special attention to the Baltic Sea and North Sea. It provides an overview of long-term data acquisition and analyses, environmental assessment, offshore planning and sustainable management, including field data collection methods, data analysis and archiving. The course includes state-of-the-art lectures and hands-on training delivered by experienced scientists and representatives responsible for marine planning. The language of instruction is English and the programme is held on Hiddensee Island, Germany.

Advanced Master of Science students, PhD students and early-phase postdocs with a background in marine sciences, marine engineering, environmental management or similar. The language of the school is English.
