Adveniat–KAAD Scholarship Programme

The Adveniat–KAAD Scholarship Programme is a cooperative scholarship scheme run by the Catholic organisations Adveniat and KAAD to support professionals committed to the Church in Latin America and the Caribbean. It funds advanced studies—particularly master's degrees, doctorates and ecclesiastical licentiates—and research stays of up to 12 months, offered for programmes in Latin America, North America, the Caribbean and Europe. The programme provides financial support (maintenance, travel and in some cases tuition), personal accompaniment and integration into an international alumni network. Priority is given to studies in Latin America or Germany and to applicants who will apply their training in ecclesial structures in their home country.

Financial support for maintenance, travel and sometimes tuition; personal accompaniment by the KAAD team and the sponsoring organisation; participation in exclusive virtual and in-person events; access to an international alumni network and thematic KAAD groups.

Catholics from Latin America and the Caribbean who are committed to the Church or church-inspired organisations may apply. Applications must be submitted together with an ecclesial or church-related organisation (e.g. diocese, religious congregation or church-inspired NGO). Applicants should preferably have at least three years' professional experience and must not be older than 40 at the start of studies (exceptions possible).

Applications must be submitted jointly with an ecclesial or church-related organisation as co-applicant; supporting documentation includes endorsement or approval from ecclesial authorities where applicable. An application form is provided by KAAD.
