Compassion Rising: Protecting Girls from FGM

The Compassion Rising project is a Seed Grant initiative aimed at ending female genital mutilation (FGM) by empowering parents, youth, and local leaders in Kenya to promote awareness, dignity, and protection for girls. It supported training and outreach activities in Baragwi, Kenya, enabling education sessions that reached thousands of community members and established reporting channels for FGM cases. The funded activities included provision of equipment and materials to document and disseminate information, with a measurable increase in community engagement against the practice.
