American Dialect Society Research Incubator

The American Dialect Society Research Incubator is a forum for presenting work-in-progress and receiving detailed feedback, aimed primarily at early-career researchers and students. Accepted presenters give a 20-minute presentation followed by extended discussion with an audience and an ADS mentor or colleague. The Incubator invites research on any language variety used in North America, associated Pacific and Atlantic islands, and the Caribbean Basin, including spoken, signed, or written varieties and historical or modern topics.

Opportunity to present a 20-minute work-in-progress presentation, receive mentorship from an ADS mentor or colleague, and detailed audience feedback and discussion.

Designed for early-career researchers, especially students; all are welcome to submit.
