Killam Fellowships Program

The Killam Fellowships Program is a competitive undergraduate exchange that enables outstanding students to spend one semester or a full academic year studying at a partner university across the Canada–United States border. The program is administered by Fulbright Canada and operates through a network of partner universities, with established credit-transfer arrangements. Fellows receive direct financial support to help fund their exchange and access the academic resources and student support services of the host institution. Participation is coordinated through the student’s home university exchange or study abroad office.

USD $6,000 per semester or USD $12,000 per full academic year; access to host university academic resources, housing options, and student support services; credit-transfer arrangements between home and host universities.

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate (Bachelor's) students in good academic standing enrolled at one of the participating partner universities in Canada or the United States, typically having completed at least one year of undergraduate study; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Canada or the United States and secure approval from their home university's study abroad or exchange office.

Applications are submitted through the student’s home university study abroad or exchange office, which collects transcripts, a statement of purpose, and any required recommendation letters, and then nominates students to the host partner university and to Fulbright Canada for funding.
